Manaus Agile tourism and culture of the AmazonA Brazilian Navy has opened registration for the Public Contest of the Navy Corps of Engineers (CP-CEM)with 64 vacancies. To apply, it is necessary to be a Brazilian citizen of either gender and be under 36 years old on January 1, 2019. Registration runs until April 16, 2018.

The tests will be held in two stages. The first stage consists of an objective written test of professional knowledge, with 20 questions and an essay, with a duration of 4 hours. Candidates not eliminated in this first stage will be able to participate in the second stage and will take a professional knowledge written discursive test and an English language text translation, lasting 5 hours. Candidates can download old tests from the site.
Those approved in all the stages and classified within the vacancies will attend the Officer Training Course (CFO) at the Centro de Instrução Almirante Wandenkolk (CIAW), in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Once approved, at the end of 2019, the military personnel will be appointed Brazilian Navy Officers at the rank of First Lieutenant and will receive initial gross salaries of approximately R$ 11 thousand, as well as several benefits, such as food, housing, uniform aid, and medical and dental assistance.
The Navy Corps of Engineers (CEM) is intended to fill positions and functions related to the application of specific knowledge required for maintenance and repair of existing resources and the development and design of new resources, as well as activities inherent to the military career.
The 64 vacancies are distributed in the following professions: Architecture and Urbanism and in Cartographic, Civil, Materials, Production, Computer Systems, Telecommunications, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Naval, Nuclear, and Chemical Engineering.
