Inspectors from the Pasta will be in Manaus until Thursday (29) to fine irregular means of accommodation.
Manaus receives this week a team of inspectors from the Ministry of Tourism. The goal of the action is to raise awareness of service providers on the importance of formalization of the sector and, consequently, ensure the expansion of the number of individuals and legal entities in the register of providers of tourist services: the Cadastur. A "Operation Cool Summer has already been in 18 capitals - Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Boa Vista, Maceió, João Pessoa, Palmas, Aracaju, Teresina, Fortaleza, Vitória, São Luís, Cuiabá, Goiânia, Belo Horizonte, Campo Grande, Natal, Recife, and Salvador - and by April, it will have been in all Brazilian capitals.
The inspection work, which began in September 2017, has already had an effect on the Cadastur numbers. In December 2017, 64,591 registrations were identified, a growth of 14% compared to the same period of the previous year. It is important to warn that anyone caught with an expired registration will be considered illegal and may be fined by the control bodies. If they do not regularize their situation, they can still be penalized with a fine that can reach R$ 854 thousand.
"With this task force of the Ministry of Tourism we will benefit not only the tourism sector, which will get out of illegality, but also the tourist who gains quality and safety when hiring a regularized service provider that acts in accordance with the Brazilian legislation. Therefore, I am convinced that this is a project that will be supported by the entire sector and its partners", believes the Minister of Tourism, Marx Beltrão.
With this measure, the Ministry of Tourism expects to ensure the registration of the means of accommodation operating in the capital of Amazonas. The registration is also mandatory for six other categories - tourist agency, theme park, tourist camp, event organizer, tour guide and tourist carrier.
