New for those who have been to the Muse is the self-guided tour option.
This Friday, December 8, the Museum of the Amazon will be open normally for manauaras and tourists. The novelty for those who have been to the Muse is the option of self-guided tour. The itinerary includes the victoria-regias lake and the recently launched exhibition Aturás Mandiocas Beijus, which shows the traditional farming system of the Rio Negro, registered as a Cultural Heritage of Brazil by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan). The tour also includes the "Frogs, Fishes and Mosses" exhibit, the orchid house, the bromeliad house, the araea trail, and the Amazon fish aquarium.
The Amazon Museum is located at Margarita Avenue, in the Cidade de Deus neighborhood and is open from 8:30am to 4pm. The suggestion is that the visitor arrives until 2:30pm to enjoy the complete tour with the climb to the 42 meters high observation tower.
The value of the self-guided tour is 10 reais per person and with this new option the visitor will have more time to enjoy each activity. The guided tour in the forest and the climb up the tower cost 20 reais each. Residents of Manaus pay half-entry with presentation of proof of residence and official document with photo.
