O Museum of the Amazon (Muse) is with news. Now, on the way to the observation tower, visitors can enter one of the trails and see the 'Mistério do Angelim Caído'. The tree is a Rock Angelim (Hymenolobium petraeum Ducke) that fell by itself at least six years ago, and a new ecosystem has formed around the trunk and branches fallen into the ground.
With the help of specialists from the National Institute for Amazon Research (Inpa), the Muse hopes to soon reveal how old the tree is, how long ago it fell and other information that may be relevant for future research. An elevated structure has been set up so that visitors can observe the tree on its trunk.
Thereás still other options at the Muse for the vacationing visitor. "The orchids are beautiful and we have great vitórias-régias that reach almost two meters in diameter," points out the director of the Museum, Ennio Candotti.

The Museum of Amazonia is located in the Adolpho Ducke Forest Reserve (Av. Margarita, s/n - Jorge Teixeira), a primary forest in the urban area of Manaus. In Musa, visitors can have closer contact with the fauna and flora of the Amazon by walking the trails, and learn more about the indigenous culture in exhibitions that highlight fishing and agriculture in regions of the Amazon interior.

Other attractions are the observation tower of 42 meters high, which allows a view over the tops of the trees, a lake of vitࣃrias-ré There is also a lake of Victoria amazonica, an aquarium with Amazonian fish, a fungus, a butterfly, a snake, and a fern corner, an orchid and a bromeliad.
Visit
During the months of December and January, the Museu da Amazônia opens every day, but closes only on Wednesdays for maintenance and on December 24 and 31, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, respectively.
Also still valid is the Our Muse Programwhich gives the right to a 50% discount at the box office for those who live in Manaus, even if they were not born in the capital of Amazonas. The discount is valid for both the guided tour (R$ 50 full) and the unguided tour (R$ 30 full).
To be entitled to pay the half-entry, the resident of Manaus need to present proof of residence and identity document with photo.
