It was inaugurated on October 24, 2006, the city's anniversary, by the Manaus City Hall, with the objective of offering leisure to the population and, at the same time, preserving the environment.

The Ponte dos Bilhares Municipal Park is an urban park located in the Chapada neighborhood, Center-South zone of Manaus, on the banks of the Mindu and Cachoeira creeks. Its limits are the avenues Djalma Batista and Constantino Nery, two of the main public roads and one of the busiest commercial areas in the city.

The Parque dos Bilhares, as it is popularly known, is an authentically urban space, with secondary vegetation, standing out in the middle of a very urbanized region, being much frequented by residents of nearby condominiums. However, the park has consolidated itself as one of the main meeting points and cultural and leisure space of Manaus in its 60,000 m².

In the architectural conception known as Belle Époque, the place tries to rescue a period almost forgotten, when the streetcars traveled through the city and had the traditional Ponte dos Bilhares as the last stop. The trolleys operated in Manaus for over 60 years and worked until the end of the 1950s. The Park also brings in its architectural features (kiosks, benches and gardens) the portrait of a past when the city squares were pleasant public places well attended by the population.

Those who are strolling or shopping at the Millennium Shopping Mall can move easily and quickly to the Park, because the access is easy. In less than five minutes, the visitor will be able to enjoy an open air environment, with trees and people of all ages having fun in the various equipment that the Parque Municipal Ponte dos Bilhares offers.

Attractions

  • Library - It is equipped with computers connected to the internet and a large collection of children's books, making the digital inclusion of children a reality, as well as stimulating the habit of reading, serving as an educational and cultural space. It works in partnership with the Industry Social Service (Sesi).
  • Amphitheater - It is a cultural and contemplation attraction, for being located on the east side, near the access through Av. Djalma Batista. The tree mass arranged in the region has the function of a sound barrier, composing a frame that surrounds it on three sides, creating a ludic atmosphere, with the lagoon as a backdrop.
  • Multi-sports courts – Two concrete multi-sports courts (22x36m) and one sand court, fenced and lighted, offer leisure to the users, besides being a spacing of Constantino Nery Avenue in relation to the Praça da Fogueira, which helps the dispersion of the vehicular sounds.
  • Lake - It has a raised deck and water jets (fountains), helping in its oxygenation, conferring an aesthetic value, stimulating contemplation and even active leisure, serving as a backdrop to the arena theater.
  • Skateboarding Track - It was installed based on the findings of the vitalizing force of skateboarding, which congregates in its tribe/sport the most diverse age groups, who use it in a continuous and constant manner.
  • Catwalk - The two areas (east and west) were connected by a 72m long metallic bridge, located at level 31, under the bridge, establishing a contact axis between them and their equipment, serving as a passage for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Playgrounds - Spaces created especially for children's entertainment, one on the east side and two on the west side, are widely used, composed of swings, spinners, seesaws, and slides. They were made of reforested wood, combining the thematic concept with the ecological one.
  • Bonfire Square - This square with its open space, its bleachers and its lamps, arranged around the base for the bonfire, intends to value the regional folkloric characteristic, also working as an extension of the area for crafts. It is open daily from 4 pm to midnight, and on weekends until 2 am. It offers several types of drinks and snacks, besides pizzas, açaí and broths.
  • Handicraft Area - For mobile arts and crafts stalls and other diversities, adjacent to the Praça da Fogueira. We are thinking of stipulating a period for this event, and it can work as a support area in occasions of folkloric celebrations and others.
  • Gastronomy - Ice cream station, focusing on regional fruits. A space destined to the commercialization of regional food, such as tacacá, tapiocas, macaxeira dumplings, açaí, and others.
