Rio Negro Park

The Rio Negro Park, located in the São Raimundo neighborhood's waterfront, is a public space, with free access, that offers a diverse programming. The leisure and culture complex is part of the Social and Environmental Program of Igarapés de Manaus (Prosamim III), of the Amazonas State Government, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for environmental, urban and housing requalification of the city, and the administration is from the State Department of Culture.

Structure

The complex, which measures, in total, more than 36,000 m², has an urbanized area with walking tracks, gardens, gazebo, belvederes, kiosks, squares, and an open-air gym, with 16 pieces of exercise equipment, besides a playground with rubberized flooring, restrooms, parking spaces, ornamental lighting, walking tracks, and a garden.

Activities that are allowed in the Parque Rio Negro

  • Activities with balls (exclusively for children);
  • Use of the Playground (exclusive for children between the ages of 2 and 10);
  • Use of rollerblades, bicycles and skateboards;
  • Sports activities: walking, running and use of the gym equipment;
  • Theater, dance, music, circus activities, ludic games and/or presentation of any nature, which are appropriate for the Rio Negro Park, as long as the Secretary of Culture has authorized it in advance;
  • Walks with small and medium-sized dogs, provided they are on a leash and have a muzzle.
