For half of those who said they travel for tourism - 49.4% - the frequency is once a year, while 13.8% say they travel once every six months. The airplane is used by 20.6% of respondents.
In relation to lodging, almost half of the Brazilians opted for hotels, resorts or inns (48.2%), while 35% preferred to enjoy the hospitality of relatives' homes. Já to get around between the attractions of the tourist destinations the most used forms were ôbus (31.7%), own car (27.1%) and táxi (13%).
Work
When the subject is business travel, only one in four Brazilians has already traveled for work in Brazil and this type of trip is not frequent. According to 28.2% of respondents they are rare or not frequent and 18.7% said they occur once a year.
To make the trip the most used means of transportation were car and bus - 40,2% and 38,5% - respectively. The plane was used in 14% of the trips. For lodging, 74.2% chose hotels, resorts or inns, while 10.3% chose to stay with relatives.
About the survey
A total of 2,002 people aged 16 or older were interviewed during the period from March 17 to 23, 2017. The margin of error is 2 percentage points, with a confidence interval of 95%.
