After being awarded the prize "For Women in Science" awardin 2016, the researcher Fernanda Werneckfrom the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA-MCTI) will receive the international award "Rising Talentsthis Tuesday (21), in Paris. The researcher develops studies that investigate the effect of climate change on Amazon and Cerrado lizards.

The biologist conducts the study entitled "Determinants of genetic diversity and evolution in the Cerrado-Amazon ecotone".which aims to investigate the patterns of genetic diversity and gene flow of lizards and the effects that climate change may cause on genetic diversity and structure in the Cerrado, the Amazon and the transition zone between these biomes.
Fernanda Werneck is a researcher at INPA since 2013 and among the projects she develops with the support of Fapeam, the one entitled "The history of the landscape and its effects on the evolution of niches and diversification of the Amazonian herpetofauna".conducted through the Research Support Program (Universal - Amazonas).
