Guitarist presents pieces from the classical repertoire composed for the guitar in a free presentation, within the agenda of the Open Space Program.
In a new edition at the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Centerin downtown São Paulo, the recital "Erudite Guitar brings the instrumentalist from Amazonas Wagner Tiburtino in a presentation with pieces of classical repertoire composed especially for guitar. The show has free admission and happens this Friday (8), at 19h, within the agenda of the Open Space Program, with the support of the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC).
The "Erudite Guitar" program includes pieces written for the guitar in different periods of the History of Music, from the 17th to the 20th centuries. The performance starts with "Suite No. 4 in E Major, BWV 1006a", a work that is part of a set of six sonatas and suites composed by the German genius Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750).
Next is "Sonata Omaggio a Boccherini", by the Italian Mario-Castelnuovo Tedesco (1895-1968). Written in 1934, the sonata in four movements pays tribute to another Italian composer, Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805), but with Tedesco's characteristic Neoclassical style.
The program ends with "Collectici Intim", one of the best known pieces for guitar written by the Spaniard Vicente Asencio (1908-1979). The 1965 work is composed of five movements, each inspired by feelings: La Serenor (Serenity), La Joia (Joy), La Calma (Calm), La Gaubança (Delight) and La Frisança (Impatience).
Altogether, the compositions on the program will take the spectator on a journey through the history of musical production for the guitar, from Bach's Baroque to Tedesco's Neoclassical, culminating with the Contemporary in the work of Asencio. Between one piece and another, Tiburtino also exchanges ideas with the audience about the composers and their works.
