Learn how to use the Blue Zone car parking application

Each space of the Blue Zone system is equipped with a sensor, which will detect the time the vehicle parked.

The Blue Zone revolving parking system, launched this month in Manaus, is working until February 17 in an educational way, without charging a fee, however, those who want can already download the application on their cell phone and register their data. Until this Friday (26), more than a thousand people had already downloaded the application "Blue Zone Manaus.

The Blue Zone rotary parking system will organize the flow of vehicle parking in the city center, offering the driver peace of mind and convenience. This model already exists in other Brazilian capitals, as well as in the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia. In all places it has proven to be the most efficient way to organize the parking of vehicles in areas with large numbers of cars.

To use the rotary parking application, the first step is to download it from the following stores Google Play or Apple Store. Next, the user must register some personal information such as email, password, CPF, and vehicle license plate. Users who do not want to use the application can choose to register on the site www.zamanaus.com.br. Through these two ways, the driver can buy credits and track how long he can stay parked in the space. The maximum limit is 3 hours. Besides this, the driver can also buy credits with the uniformed monitors and at partner stores.

With the application installed, when parking in one of the Blue Zone spots, the user who has already bought credits in advance will be able to get off, without having to do any procedure. In case he does not have any credits, it will be necessary to purchase them. The operational director of Consórcio Amazônia, the system concessionaire, Guilherme Rocha, explains that the monitors will be responsible for going through the streets where the Blue Zone is installed and verify if the parked vehicle is in order to use the parking space.

One advantage is that, if the user bought credit for only one hour and will need to take longer than that, for example, he can buy this extra time, through the application itself.

Each space in the Blue Zone system is equipped with a sensor, which will detect the time in which the vehicle parked. The sensors will be working as of February 17, when the fee will be charged.

Initially, the Blue Zone will have 1,500 parking spaces. In one month it will reach a total of 3,000. The goal is that, in three months, 5,000 spaces will be working. The parking spaces are available on Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro and on the streets 10 de Julho, Barroso, Henrique Martins, Rui Barbosa, 24 de Maio, Costa Azevedo, Marçal, Dona Libânia, Monsenhor Coutinho, Tapajós, Lobo D'Almada, Joaquim Sarmento, José Clemente, Ramos Ferreira, Frei Lourenço and Ferreira Pena. The system will operate Monday through Friday, from 8am to 6pm, and on Saturdays, from 8am to 5pm. On Sunday there will be no charge for the system.

The Blue Zone concept follows the principle of rotation, which provides the opportunity for more people to go downtown, with the peace of mind that they will have a place to park their vehicles. Thus, the driver who exceeds the maximum stay of three hours may have his vehicle fined by the Municipal Institute of Engineering and Traffic Supervision (Manaustrans). According to the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB), article 181, item XVII, parking in disagreement with the regulations is a serious violation, with a fine of R$ 195.23, and five points on the National Driver's License. The vehicle can also be removed to the City Hall parking lot.
