The Basic Course of Libras has a workload of 80 hours and will be held at the Cineteatro Guarany, also in Vila Ninita, with classes on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9am to noon. The instructor will be teacher Marcelo Costa, and the classes are scheduled to start in March, ending in June.
According to the advisor for Inclusion of People with Disabilities from the secretariat, Sheila Campos, the goal is to expand the knowledge about Libras, which has already been recognized as the second official language of Brazil.
"Our courses, which we offer every year, aim to promote the inclusion of deaf people in all sectors of society. We intend, still in this first semester, to offer an advanced course in Libras. In the basics, the student will learn vocabulary, loose words and small sentences," he says.
