The exhibition has already passed through the South, Southeast and Northeast regions.
O Sesc Amazonas began to perform the scheduling of schools and groups (from 15 people) who have interested in visiting the national exhibition "Anthropy: The reflexes of man's action on the environment. Visits are free and will take place throughout the month of August, in the Science Room at Sesc Balneário, in Planalto. The space will operate from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
The show seeks to promote the understanding of today's climatic phenomena, to make the population aware of the concept of sustainability and, in this way, to minimize the impacts of man's actions on the environment.
The exhibition has already passed through the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions. In the North, the visitation began in Roraima, in May and June. Amazonas is the second state in the region to receive the exhibit, which will also pass through Pará.
According to the Sesc Science coordinator in Amazonas, César Marinho, the exhibit is divided into six modules, an introductory one, while the others explore the impacts of man in each region of Brazil. For him, the exhibition invites visitors to rethink their attitudes towards the environment.
"It is a good opportunity for us to reflect on man's actions on the environment in Manaus, a city located in the center of the largest forest in the world. It is an interesting moment for us to think about how we are living with these natural resources, how we have dealt with the concept of preservation and what our relationship is with this forest that keeps us going," he said.
The guided tours can be scheduled by phone (92) 2121-5374, 98415-7818 or by e-mail sala.ciencia@sesc-am.
Anthropy Exhibit
The Anthropy Show was conceived by the National Department (DN) in 2015, in order to promote the understanding of the phenomena that have been causing extreme events worldwide, raise awareness of the sustainability paradigm, encourage the formation of socially responsible networks for environmental health and the intelligent use of resources and technologies to reduce the impacts of human action on the environment. The purpose is to discuss the anthropic actions on the environment, to invite the visitor to reflect about the effects of such actions on nature, and to rethink alternatives to minimize these damages.
