The estimate is that the mall receives more than two thousand people daily.
Sunday, 10/12, was marked by a big party for the opening of the largest center of popular commerce in Manaus: the Shopping Phelippe Daouinitially known as Shopping T4, which will house approximately 600 former cameramen, now micro-entrepreneurs. The mayor of Manaus, Arthur Virgilio Neto, began work on site, accompanied by the first lady, Elisabeth Valeiko, and Vice Mayor Marcos Rotta. The opening of the space also gives the 'kick' to the offer of a series of public services that will operate daily to serve the region's population.
With 15 thousand square meters of constructed area, the new space has parking for more than 300 cars, a food court with 400 seats, and dozens of variety stores. It is estimated that the mall will receive more than two thousand people daily.
"We are inaugurating this temple of entrepreneurship, which bears the name of a great communications entrepreneur from our land, the late journalist Phelippe Daou. We hope that with this, we can irrigate hope, money, prosperity, as the Brazilian economy is improving, the trade of a region vital to Manaus, which is the East zone ", said the mayor Arthur Neto.
According to the mayor, the prospect is that the Shopping Phelippe Daou will further heat up trade in the region, provide job and income generation and offer convenience and variety of services to the population of the area and surrounding areas. "All we want is to facilitate people's access to their rights and make it easier for people to shop here. The shopping Phelippe Daou will be a great milestone in the decentralization of trade, towards the prestige of a region that is very strong, pulsating, and will be an engine in the development of Manaus," he stressed.
Popular support
The operation of the mall represents, especially, a new phase for 600 micro-entrepreneurs, who previously, as former street vendors, occupied the streets of the city center. "The category was extremely anxious for the ownership of these spaces. We have great confidence in the public of the North and East zones, and we are already sure of the success that the mall will be. The services offered will be great to attract people to meet the good products sold by microentrepreneurs, who are qualified to serve this large public", said the representative of the Union of Street Vendors of Manaus (Sincovam), José Assis.
Other services
Those who visit the space daily can also enjoy services offered by PAC Municipal, Sine Manaus, Sinetram post, Cadastro Único (Cadúnico) and service post of the project Manaus Atende.
The Manaus Atende, for example, besides offering services related to the tax area, will also have licensing services linked to the municipal departments of Finance (Semef), Semmas, Semsa and the Municipal Institute of Urban Planning (Implurb).
Another novelty is the Subcentral of the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), managed by the Municipal Secretariat of Women, Social Assistance and Human Rights (Semmasdh), which will decentralize the service for users of CadÚnico and beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família Program.
The CadÚnico is an instrument that identifies and characterizes low-income families by recording information such as: characteristics of the residence, identification of each person, education, work situation and income, among others. It works as a gateway for families to access various public policies carried out in the three spheres of government.
