Tacacá na Bossa comes to 13th season bringing new features

This year's event will feature a stage and lighting structure for the performances.

The 13th season of Tacacá na Bossa starts this Wednesday (3/4), with the group Raízes Caboclas and participation of guests from the band, in the Largo de São Sebastiãoat 7pm and free admission. This year, the project, which is supported by the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC), will have programming until December 13.

Joaquim Melo, who organizes the project, says that, in this edition, there is an incentive for the chosen bands to nominate groups or names that are still starting out and that focus on authorial music.

"It will be a kind of new talents. We ask the bands to bring someone for a pre-show, for example, who is starting out and is based on authorial music, which is the main criterion for participating in 'Tacacá na Bossa'," he explains.

This year, according to the organizer, the event will have a stage and lighting structure for the presentations. The project, created by 'Tacacá da Gisela' in 2005, also has the support of the Largo's establishments and has become a meeting point for tourists and Amazonians in the Historical Center of Manaus.

"This structure that we will have this year will allow a greater appreciation of the musicians who will perform in 'Tacacá'," says Melo.

For April, the schedule includes Casa de Caba (11/4), Fátima Silva (18/4), Rafael Moraes & Grupo (18/4) and a concert in honor of the National Choro Day (4/23)which coincides with Pixinguinha's birthday. The concerts take place, traditionally, on Wednesdays, starting at 7pm.

"We prioritize the quality of the musicians' and bands' work, so we will have, as usual, a quality program, with thematic concerts, such as the one to celebrate Pixinguinha's birthday, Rock Day, and others," says the organizer.
