All set for the 38th Guarana Festival

During the three days, the event will bring together 25 attractions, with the highlight being Wesley Safadão's concert on Friday night (8), in addition to sports tournaments and an agribusiness fair.

It starts this Thursday (7), the 38th Guaraná Festival of Mauésevent promoted by Ambev, the Government of Amazonas and the Maués City Hall, at the Ponta da Maresia beach (253 kilometers from Manaus).

During the three days, the event will bring together 25 attractions, with the highlight being Wesley Safadão's showon Friday night (8), in addition to sports tournaments and an agribusiness fair. The organizers expect to gather more than 15 thousand people during the three-day festival.

Created in 1979, to celebrate the harvest season of the fruit that is the symbol of the city, the Guaraná Festival has as its main attractions on the first night, the presentation of Tambores da Floresta (7:30 pm), a local Gambá group, an Amazonian rhythm that has in Maués one of its last strongholds, and the final of the contest Queen of Guaraná (10:30pm), with the participation of eight candidates.

On Friday (8), besides Wesley Safadão's expected performance, the sports tournaments will start (at 9am), with five sports (sand volleyball and soccer, footvolley, hand beach, and penalty shootout) and R$10,000 in prizes for the winners.

On the third and last day (9) the main attraction on the stage of Maresia Beach will be the staging of the Guaraná Legend (9:30pm), with the Maués Dance Corps and the Porantim Group, both from Maués.

"Besides the festive celebration and rescue of our culture and traditions, the economic and financial impact to the municipality of the three-day event is significant and important. There are more than 600 new jobs, besides the impulse in several sectors, such as hotels, restaurants, and services", highlighted the mayor of Maués, Junior Leite.

"Maués originated the Guaraná Antarctica that reaches the homes of millions of Brazilians every day. Therefore, nothing could be more natural for the brand than to be side by side with the population of Maués at this moment that celebrates the harvest of the fruit that is a source of pride not only for the Amazon, but for all of Brazil," affirms Edivaldo Galetti, Guaraná Antarctica's plant manager.

Guaraná Route

Parallel to the programming of shows on the main stage, at the Ponta da Maresia Beach, visitors can visit an exclusive space baptized "Guaraná Route".

The area will show the history - the first reports of consumption by the Sateré Mawé date back to the 17th century - and the fruit's production chain, from cultivation, harvest and the processing process until it reaches the final consumer in the form of drinks, juices and crafts.

For the first time there will also be a large agribusiness fair, where producers can negotiate directly with local and capital companies for their products, and which will also have the presence of banks and public and private financial institutions, to facilitate access to credit.

Structure

To receive the visitors of the party, the Maués City Hall assembled a great security scheme, in partnership with the State Government, with 200 professionals among military and private police officers.

During the entire event, there will also be a Campaign to Combat Sexual Exploitation of Children and the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD/AIDS) campaign, with the distribution of 100,000 condoms.

Tourists will also have a Tourist Assistance Center (CAT) unit available, in front of the city's port.
