Abrigo Moacyr Alves provides professional training for the local community. The institution maintains a partnership with the Centro de Educação Tecnológica do Amazonas (CETAM) to offer free sewing and tailoring courses. This initiative uses the Sustainable Cutting and Customization Workshop structure, which produces uniforms and swimwear for the residents.
Sewing and Tailoring Course
The course is free. It offers 20 spots with a total workload of 80 hours, although new 150-hour classes are planned for the future. Classes take place from 16:00 to 21:00.
Certification is guaranteed. Students receive a certificate after completing pedagogical activities at Abrigo Moacyr Alves while using machines and equipment purchased by the Fundo de Promoção Social.
Registration and Location
Registration must be done in person. Interested individuals should visit the Setor de Serviço Social at Rua Professora Léa Alencar, 1014, in the Alvorada I neighborhood. Service is available Mo-Fr 08:00-11:00 and 14:00-17:00.
Bring your documents. You must present an RG, CPF, proof of residence, and two 3x4 photos to finalize your enrollment in the offered course.
