The Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia opened in May 2007. This space shares information about Continental Amazonian countries, including Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. The site honors traditional peoples by preserving the region's ethnic-cultural diversity. It is managed by the Government of the State of Amazonas through the Secretaria de Estado de Cultura.
Structure and Spaces
The complex includes several areas. There is a dome with 150 seats and an auditorium for 70 people. An arena for shows also exists with capacity for 17,000 seated guests, allowing large events to occur on-site.
The center houses the Museu do Homem do Norte. The State began managing this museum in 2011. Visitors find exhibitions like the Maloca Aruak and the Xapono Yanomami while walking through themed areas.
