Galeria do Largo serves as a visual arts center in the heart of Manaus. The space is located at Rua Costa Azevedo, 290, within the historic Largo de São Sebastião area. This museum opened on November 4, 2005, during the 2° Amazonas Film Festival to showcase national cinema posters.
Building history
The building has a significant past. In 1942, the property belonged to the Mattos Areosa family, who hosted Governor Danilo Duarte de Mattos Areosa at the location. The premises served as the headquarters for Construtora Rayol until mid-2005, after the State Government leased the space to integrate the Largo de São Sebastião revitalization project.
