North Man Museum

The Museu do Homem do Norte opened on March 13, 1985. It currently operates within the Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia (CCPA). The collection contains approximately 2,000 objects representing regional culture. This museum reflects the unique aspects of life in northern Brazil while preserving local traditions and work techniques.

Collection and Exhibits

The collection is vast. It includes products such as rubber, Brazil nuts, and jute alongside items from folk medicine. The ethnographic collection of Noel Nutels was incorporated into the museum so that visitors can learn about indigenous health history in Parque do Xingu.

Archaeological pieces are also present. Visitors find ceramics, masks, and body ornaments provided by FUNAI. These pieces demonstrate ancient rituals because they were selected to show the cultural breadth of the Amazon.
