Hits by Tim Maia will be interpreted by rapper Victor Xamã this Friday, January 24th, from 9 pm, at Cultural Space Curupira Mãe do Matolocated at Sete de Setembro Avenue, 1710, Center. This will be Victor's last show in the city, before leaving for a season in São Paulo. The ticket costs R$ 15, and the other attractions of the night are the bands Gramophone e O Tronxo.
Rapper and music producer, Victor Xamã has been nicknamed by the public as the "Tim Maia of national rap". "Tim Maia is one of my biggest references. Some time ago I was challenged to present this show by the producer Do Mato, at Café Blend, and since then the public always asked when this special would happen again. I thought this show would be a good way to say goodbye," says Victor.
In addition, last week, the music video for the song "Emerald Green & Granite Gray," produced by Isa Hansen (SP) in conjunction with Candela Mídia (AM), was nominated for best music video of 2019 by the Genius Brazil Brazilian Music Award, alongside names like Emicida, Black Alien and Rincon Sapiência.
For the rapper, the nomination is an honor for being alongside big names in music. "I feel totally happy. We make an independent style of art, all the investment is personal, and the people who collaborate with us are part of the whole creative process. This achievement is very important for the North and I hope to intensify this even more in the future, so that our art is valued even more," he said.
Victor brings in his luggage other recognitions, at a national level, for his work. The album "V. E. C. G." also earned the artist a place in Vice magazine's list of the 10 Biggest Bets for 2018 in Hip Hop.
For 2020, he says he intends to focus more and more on his music. "This year, I want to release more music videos for singles and I'm preparing a new album, which is called 'Calor', as well as a collaborative EP with the artist Neguim Beats," he adds.
Ascension
The manauara Victor Xamã is considered a rising artist in hip hop culture in the North region. He had his first contact with rap as a teenager and, since 2012, was already present in the scene through independent productions. His first authorial work, the album "Janela", was released in 2015.
In 2019, Xamã released several works, including the music videos "Emerald Green & Granite Gray" and "Asymmetrical" (featuring rapper Brisa Flow), as well as the tracks "Lado A, Lado B," featuring Nill, and "Pregos de Ouro," a collaboration between Victor, Beli Remour, and 1lum3.
In June last year, Victor had the opportunity to open the show of one of the greatest exponents of national rap, Baco Exu do Blues, and took the rap manauara to São Paulo once again.
